Member News — New Jersey American Water Investing $915,000 in Linden
December 24th, 2018
New Jersey American Water is replacing approximately 2,660 feet of aging water main in its Linden service area. The company is replacing main that has reached the end of its useful life with new ductile iron main along Jackson Avenue which turns into Maple Avenue, from Lincoln Street to E. Curtis Street. The project also includes replacing three hydrants and 76 utility-owned service lines along the pipeline route.
This $915,000 investment will continue to improve water service reliability and increase water flows for household consumption and fire protection in this community. This improvement is part of New Jersey American Water’s multimillion dollar program to accelerate the renewal of water infrastructure that is reaching the end of its useful life in more than 100 communities across the state.
New Jersey American Water’s local qualified contractor Montana Construction will begin work on or about December 26 and be completed in approximately four weeks. Work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work outside these hours is not expected unless required to maintain project schedule. Final street restoration will be completed in the spring of 2019.
