Member News — Columbia Bank Foundation Supports Pompton Lakes Education Foundation
December 3rd, 2018

The Columbia Bank Foundation recently provided $20,000 in special funding to the Pompton Lakes Education Foundation. The donation is part of the Foundation’s current initiative to partner with local communities and Boards of Education within the Bank’s service area. The grant will provide all second grade classrooms at Lenox Elementary School with Chromebook computers.

“Technology is an increasingly important tool for learning,” said Thomas J. Kemly, President and CEO of Columbia Bank. “We are pleased to provide the Lenox Elementary School with tools for enhanced learning.”

As one of the largest private foundations in New Jersey, the Columbia Bank Foundation was created to serve the needs of local communities, and provide grants and contributions to organizations recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Columbia Bank Foundation actively seeks to provide support in seven major areas: affordable housing programs, community investment and economic development opportunities, financial literacy and educational opportunities, health and human services, community sponsored events, food pantries, and the arts. Special consideration is always given to programs that provide a measurable community impact.
