Member News — CCM and Morris Tech Share the Impact of Joint Workforce Training Programs Meeting Industry Demand with College-Level Study for High School Students
October 24th, 2018

County College of Morris (CCM) and the Morris County Vocational School District (MCVSD) will be hosting a showcase to share the impact of their joint programs that train high school students for the careers of today and tomorrow.

The Career and Technical Education Partnership Showcase takes place Thursday, November 1, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Student Community Center Davidson Rooms on the CCM campus, 214 Center Grove Road, Randolph. The event is free and open to the public.

During the showcase, attendees will hear from students and parents about the value of the college and district’s share time programs in Engineering, Design and Advanced Manufacturing (EDAM), and Cybersecurity and Information Protection, along with the 12th Grade Initiative. These share-time programs allow high school students to spend half of their school day at CCM taking college-level courses while earning credits toward a degree. The district also offers full-day students the opportunity to attend CCM, funding up to 22 college credits for courses.

CCM President Anthony J. Iacono, MCVSD Superintendent Scott Moffitt; and Aaron Fichtner, president of the New Jersey Council of County Colleges, also will provide information on how those programs meet the demand for an educated and skilled workforce.

The Career and Technical Education Partnership Showcase opens with a continental breakfast and concludes with a tour of CCM’s lab facilities. For more information, contact Shari Castelli, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction at 973-627-4600 ext. 206.
