October 24th, 2018

Hackensack Meridian Health Meridian Health Foundation is pleased to announce that its 21st Annual Gala, honoring John K. Lloyd, FACHE, co-CEO of Hackensack Meridian Health, and his wife Maureen, will take place on Saturday, November 17 from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City. This signature fundraising event benefits Hackensack Meridian Health’s not-for-profit medical centers and community health programs in Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex counties.

“We are thrilled to honor John and Maureen for their outstanding accomplishments and dedication throughout the years,” shares Joseph E. Stampe, south regional president, Foundation chief development officer at Hackensack Meridian Health. “John’s commitment, vision and leadership has changed the landscape of health care in New Jersey and Maureen has been a tremendous volunteer with our Foundation.”

John was named president of Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune in 1982. In the early 1990s, he led the creation of Meridian Health and was instrumental in developing Meridian’s continuum of care, which helped the organization meet and exceed the challenges of health care reform. In July of 2016, John helped spearhead the merger between Meridian Health and Hackensack University Health Network and as co-CEO, oversees all non-hospital businesses, including health ventures, population health and the foundations.

“It has been a pleasure and privilege to work alongside John,” says Robert C. Garrett, FACHE, co-CEO of Hackensack Meridian Health. “Not only has he been an incredible visionary in shaping health care throughout New Jersey, but he and Maureen have been extremely generous in giving of their time, energy and resources to better health care for their local communities. They have made a true impact on our state and we owe them a great deal of gratitude. I wish John nothing but the best in his retirement and will miss his partnership and camaraderie.”

Named the Giving Heals Gala, the 21st annual fete will feature reception-style seating, a delicious menu with an array of hors d’oeuvres and stations, live music and black tie attire.

“Maureen and I are so incredibly humbled by this honor. We are grateful for our friends who have supported us throughout my career at Hackensack Meridian Health and look forward to celebrating with many of them on November 17,” says Mr. Lloyd.
