October 2nd, 2018

Columbia Bank, through their Columbia Bank Foundation, recently issued two separate community grants, totaling $45,000, to the New City Kids: Paterson.  A $35,000 grant was used to purchase a new commuter van which will be used to transport participants to and from activities, while a separate $10,000 grant, the result of the bank’s Employee Charitable Nomination Program, will be used to fund their afterschool programs.

Shown participating in a special presentation are (from left) Amy Dupuis, Executive Director of the Columbia Bank Foundation; Eric Martin, Columbia Bank’s Treasury Management Supervisor who also nominated this organization to receive the separate $10,000 donation; Jeremy Jerschina, Executive Director of New City Kids: Paterson, and Dyana Guzman, New City Kids Team Leader.

“We are extremely pleased to help the outstanding work of New City Kids: Paterson with their many after-school programs” said Thomas Kemly, President and CEO of Columbia Bank.  “As a true community-based bank, Team Columbia remains committed to helping local organizations that make a difference in people’s lives.”

Created to serve the needs of local communities, the Columbia Bank Foundation provides grants and contributions to organizations recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  The Columbia Bank Foundation actively seeks to provide support in seven major areas: Affordable housing, community investment and economic development, financial literacy and education, health and human services, community sponsored events, food pantries and the arts. Special consideration is always given to programs that provide a measurable community impact.
