Member News — Columbia Bank Foundation Grant Helps Christian Health Care Center
September 14th, 2018

The Columbia Bank Foundation provided the Christian Health Care Center, located in Wyckoff, New Jersey, a $25,000 grant to assist in the renovation of their Longview Assisted Living Residence. Longview was built nearly 20 years ago and primarily focuses on 24/7 care for active senior residents and those with memory impairment or dementia-related diagnoses. The grant will be used to upgrade common areas such as the main reception area, resident dining room, library, living room, wellness center, resident activity lounges, salon, resident great room, and even a private dining room for residents to eat with visiting loved ones. Adding additional rooms is also a priority to accommodate more seniors who experience memory loss.

“We are pleased to assist in the renovation of the Longview Residence, and admire Christian Health Care Center’s unwavering efforts to provide quality care and make residents feel at home,” said Thomas J. Kemly, CEO and President of Columbia Bank.

The Longview Residence is one of many programs and services on the premises. Christian Health Care Center also has a specialized nursing home, behavioral management unit, independent senior housing, adult day programs, inpatient and outpatient mental health care, as well as inpatient and outpatient short-term rehab for post-acute physical, occupational and speech therapy. The organization was established in 1911.

Created to serve the needs of local communities, the Columbia Bank Foundation provides grants and contributions to organizations recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Columbia Bank Foundation actively seeks to provide support in seven major areas: affordable housing programs, community investment and economic development opportunities, financial literacy and educational opportunities, health and human services, community sponsored events, food pantries, and the arts. Special consideration is always given to programs that provide a measurable community impact.
