May 24th, 2018

Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, announced that Christopher Ellis, PE, has joined its Bloomfield, New Jersey, office as a geotechnical senior project manager.

With more than 23 years of experience, Ellis is supporting the firm by performing geotechnical and foundation designs, preparing geotechnical recommendation reports, providing technical oversight to other staff, and coordinating and managing geotechnical aspects of projects. He is currently working on numerous projects for the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT).

Prior to joining the firm, Ellis spent many years working for an international engineering and architecture consulting firm where he performed work for state agencies associated with mass transportation, as well as contractors, private developers, county agencies, and local municipalities. He managed geotechnical aspects of many design-build and design-bid-build projects across the Northeast. The majority of Ellis’s career has been spent working on rail projects for NJ TRANSIT and roadway and highway projects for NJDOT.
Ellis earned a master’s degree in geotechnical engineering (1996) and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (1992) from the University of New Hampshire. He is a professional engineer in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
