Member News — National Engineering And Environmental Services Firm Gives Back To Local Community

Matrix New World Engineering, Inc. (Matrix), presented a check to Jessica Ortiz from Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Union County, NJ. According to Jayne Warne, PE, President, “Matrix and its employees, have always taken causes of supporting others in need, very seriously. I am proud of our employees’ efforts in these areas.”
In conjunction with the Inaugural Committee of Philip Murphy, and their dual mission of community service and creating a stronger and fairer future for New Jersey, Matrix, along with its partners, were extremely pleased to be a part of the fund-raising effort for Union County Big Brothers and Big Sisters. These much needed donations ensures BBBS Mission of helping children reach their full potential, through one on one relationships that have measurable impact, will continue to thrive.
Carlos Lejnieks, President & CEO, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Essex, Hudson & Union Counties (Newark, NJ), elaborates further, “”We are extremely grateful for your generous support which will allow us to serve an increased number of children from Essex, Hudson & Union Counties. It is clear that the team at Matrix understands the power of mentoring our youth, especially those who have the odds stacked against them.”
Matrix participates in numerous charitable and local community projects. Most notable is their involvement with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Union and Morris Counties. Members of the firm have served on the Board of Directors for numerous years in helping to promote and enhance the development of underprivileged boys and girls. The firm also provided civil and environmental engineering services at no cost to the Boys & Girls Club for the purchase and renovation of a new community center building. Matrix has also encouraged its staff to teach classes to the children about ecology and the environment. In addition, Matrix has donated several thousand dollars to the organization.
