CIANJ Supports Creating a Coastal Plains Wine Corridor
February 9th, 2018

This year, the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey is getting behind vineyards, wineries, grape-growers and other businesses that work in New Jersey’s wine industry. We fully support the findings of Gov. Murphy’s Agriculture Transition Team to create a “Coastal Plains Wine Corridor” and take all related businesses to the next level.

The Agriculture Transition Advisory Committee recently released their report which said the creation of a Coastal Plains Wine Corridor is a “unique opportunity to brand this region as its own distinct tourist destination.”

There are three main “viticulture” areas in the state – the Coastal Plains Wine Corridor covers nine counties and 2.25 million acres of industry-related property.  As an organization, we are in a unique position to help businesses in the Coastal Plains Wine Corridor with legislative advocacy, making connections with legislators and agency officials as well as supporting and promoting event planning, communications and social media campaigns.

CIANJ is talking with the Garden State Wine Growers Association to see how we can work with them to support the planned growth for the industry as outlined by Gov. Murphy, the Agriculture Transition Team and key legislators. This program will help tourism and agriculture as well as infusing visitors and revenue into all the municipalities with the corridor – this is a win, win, win for not only the region but for New Jersey’s economy.
