Member News — CohnReznick’s Scutellaro, Wise Named to AICPA Tax Division Committee Roles
February 6th, 2018

CohnReznick LLP, one of the leading accounting, tax, and advisory firms in the United States, today announced that the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) has appointed two members of its tax practice to Tax Division Committees.

Joseph F. Scutellaro, CPA, Partner, was named Chair of the Tax Practice Responsibilities Committee. He is serving a two-year term as Chair and a third year as Immediate Past Chair of the committee. Scutellaro was the committee’s Vice Chair for the 2016-2017 year. The AICPA’s Tax Practice Responsibilities Committee (TPRC) monitors and makes recommendations on internal and external rules regarding the tax profession. It also maintains the tax professional standards promulgated by the AICPA, including the Statement on Standards in Tax Services (SSTS).

Dan Wise, CPA, Director, is serving a three-year term as a voluntary member of the AICPA’s Tax Practice and Procedure Committee. The committee monitors developments in and changes to IRS procedural and administrative guidance. It also keeps AICPA members informed of these changes and acts as a resource to assist other committees, technical resource panels, and task forces, as appropriate, on matters of tax administration and procedure.

The American Institute of CPAs is the world’s largest member association representing the accounting profession, with more than 418,000 members in 143 countries, and a history of serving the public interest since 1887. AICPA members represent many areas of practice, including business and industry, public practice, government, education, and consulting. The AICPA sets ethical standards for the profession and U.S. auditing standards for private companies, nonprofit organizations, federal, state, and local governments.
