The New Jersey Society of CPAs (NJCPA) announced Gordon Smith, CPA, CGMA as its new Chief Financial Officer. His new responsibilities include leading the finance team, overseeing financial planning, and budget responsibilities.
Mr. Smith brings 23 years of finance, accounting, and management experience. He previously held the position: director of finance for Children’s Specialized Hospital in Mountainside. Mr. Smith served as treasurer and vice president of finance and financial reporting for The Newark Group, Inc. He also worked in many supervisory and accounting managerial roles for an outsourcing firm.
“Gordon brings a wealth of knowledge and experience directing finance, budget and accounting operations for a diverse group of companies and organizations,” said NJCPA CEO & Executive Director Ralph Albert Thomas, CGMA. “He is a valuable addition to our senior leadership team during a period of significant change in the CPA profession and association sphere.”
Mr. Smith holds a B.S. in Accounting from Seton Hall University and has a New York CPA license. Currently, he resides in Cranford N.J. with his wife and two children.
