Berkeley College celebrated its 7th Annual Community Service Day on June 17, 2016. Approximately 350 Berkeley College faculty, staff, alumni and students volunteered more than 1,300 hours of community service at sites in New Jersey and New York.
In Bergen County, NJ, Berkeley College volunteers worked at the Department of Parks in Saddle Brook, the Zoo at Van Saun Park in Paramus, and Children’s Aid and Family Services in Ridgewood.
“Community Service Day at Berkeley College helps build awareness about the role non-profit organizations play in keeping our local communities strong and vibrant,” said Michael Smith, President of Berkeley College. “This day also serves as an impetus for inspiring our faculty, staff, alumni and students to continue to share their time and talents beyond this special day.”
Community Service Day is an initiative of Berkeley Cares, which throughout the year assists charities in the critical areas of food, shelter, health and student success.
