Member News -- Columbia Bank Foundation Supports M..

The Columbia Bank Foundation recently granted $20,000 to the Midland Park Public Education Foundation. The donation is part of the Foundation’s current initiative to partner with local communities and Boards of Education within the Bank’s service area. The grant will fund the creation of a new Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) program and a space lab for age appropriate experiments and robotics instruction. The lab will serve students in grades K-6.

“We are proud to make this donation to enhance the skills of so many Midland Park Students,” said Thomas J. Kemly, President and CEO of Columbia Bank. Pete Galasso, Highland School Principal also added, “My faculty, students, and even the parents are excited to get this project off the ground and Columbia Bank’s donation made that happen.”

The Columbia Bank Foundation actively seeks to provide support in seven major areas: affordable housing programs, community investment and economic development opportunities, financial literacy and educational opportunities, health and human services, community sponsored events, food pantries, and the arts. Special consideration is always given to programs that provide a measurable community impact.
