The Valley Hospital has been ranked among the top hospitals in the nation for several clinical and surgical areas by Healthgrades.
Most notably, Valley has been recognized as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals and among the top five percent of hospitals in the nation for stroke, general surgery and gastrointestinal care. Valley was also named among the top five percent in the nation for neurosciences and neurosurgery, and is the recipient of the Critical Care Excellence Award. Valley is the only hospital in Bergen County to have earned each of these distinctions for 2019.
“I am very proud that Valley has received these distinguished recognitions,” said Audrey Meyers, President and CEO of The Valley Hospital and Valley Health System. “Our physicians and staff make Valley a hospital of choice for the communities we serve by achieving optimal clinical outcomes for our patients while delivering compassionate care.”
These recognitions are part of findings released in the Healthgrades 2019 Report to the Nation. The yearly report demonstrates how clinical performance differs dramatically between hospitals nationally, regionally and at the local level, and the impact that this variation has on health outcomes.
“Hospitals that have achieved Healthgrades America’s 100 Best awards have proven their dedication to quality care and exceptional outcomes,” said Brad Bowman, M.D., Chief Medical Officer at Healthgrades.
Every year, Healthgrades evaluates hospital performance at almost 4,500 hospitals nationwide for 32 of the most common inpatient procedures and conditions, as well as tracking outcomes in appendectomy and bariatric surgery using all-payer data provided by 15 states and the District of Columbia.* The complete Healthgrades 2019 Report to the Nation and detailed study methodology can be found at www.healthgrades.com/quality/.
