More than 60 ConnectOne Bank employees rallied recently to make 24 significant gifts for neighbors in need served by non-profit organizations in five New Jersey counties. Attending the bank’s second annual Community Connections charitable team-building event on Sunday, September 30, employees from various ConnectOne Bank offices and departments built benches, bookcases, coffee tables and more to help women, children and teens facing tough times.
Caring Capital, New Jersey’s only charitable team-building enterprise that offers custom kits to make and donate, partnered with ConnectOne Bank to shape and facilitate the event. During this three-hour gathering, employees made the following items for area non-profits:
- Four bookcases for Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss (Union County)
- Four mosaic tables for the Women’s Rights Information Center (Bergen County)
- Two garden benches for IEP Youth Services (Monmouth County)
- Four blanket and pillow sets for the Center for Safety and Change (Rockland County)
- Ten checkers sets for Comfort Zone Camp (Hudson County)
“Most people wish to help those in need but often don’t know how,” said Caring Capital President Susie Schub. “We make it easy for companies to help their employees help others. Our ready-to-make gift kits allow employees to feel good about pitching in and help companies serve communities. We salute ConnectOne Bank for its broad and ongoing service to those at risk.”
