There has been a lot of talk recently about the new emphasis on growing the innovation economy in New Jersey. Both Gov. Murphy and his economic development advisors have said a key part of the state’s return to economic health will be through a rebirth of the tech industry in the Garden State. As Gov. Murphy is fond of saying, before there was Silicon Valley, there was New Jersey.
One of the leading advocates for the innovation economy in New Jersey is Aaron Price, the founder and CEO of Propelify. What is Propelify? If you don’t already know, you need to know. It’s an annual festival on the waterfront in Hoboken that draws more than 10,000 attendees and boasts more than 80 speakers on different aspects of the innovation economy.
Price was quoted in the Hoboken Patch that the festival is, “a place to unite the tech, startup, and corporate innovation community.” This festival does its best to connect investors, start-ups, entrepreneurs and others to showcase the latest innovations. Even Gov. Murphy and the CEO of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority were guest speakers at this year’s event, highlighting how big of a priority the innovation economy is to them.
CIANJ is hosting a technology forum on August 2 – “New Jersey Innovators Look to the Future” and Price is one of the featured speakers. Other key figures in the innovation economy will be on hand to discuss what is currently happening and the vision for the future of the tech industry in New Jersey.
