New Jersey Transit (NJ TRANSIT) has selected Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, for an environmental consulting task order contract and a stations services task order contract.
Dewberry’s scope of work for the environmental consulting services contract includes site investigation and remediation; environmental and historic documentation; and environmental permitting, compliance and project documentation. The firm will also provide underground and aboveground storage tank system compliance reviews, design services, and project documentation. Energy and sustainability services, and environmental and facility data management are also part of the scope of work.
Under the stations, access, parking, and site planning contract, the firm will provide specialized station facility design, multimodal access plans, and ADA station improvement program planning and design services.
These contracts will assist NJ TRANSIT in the planning, engineering design, and construction of projects that support both its day-to-day multimodal operation, and ongoing state of good repair capital program. NJ TRANSIT is the nation’s third largest provider of bus, rail, and light rail transit, with a fleet of 2,221 buses, 1,231 trains and 21 light rail vehicles, 252 bus routes, and 12 rail lines statewide, providing nearly 270 million passenger trips each year.
