Member News -- Valley National Bank Donates Comput..

As part of Valley National Bank’s new “Pop-Up Moments,” representatives from Valley visited the Prospect Park Elementary School on Thursday, April 19, to deliver 10 laptop computers for their Before-and-After School Care program. These computers will support the staff’s curriculum needs.

“Providing access to technology is key to improving education and equipping students with the skills and resources they need to thrive in today’s digital society,” said Robert Bardusch, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

The Prospect Park Elementary School Before-and-After School Care Program is a joint venture between the Prospect Park School District and the Wayne Unit of the Boys & Girls Club of Northwest New Jersey to support the needs of working parents in the local Prospect Park community.

“When we spoke to the Wayne Boys & Girls Club they expressed a need to address their digital resources,” Bardusch continued. “We feel that by donating these computers, we can help make a meaningful difference in the lives of these students.”

“We continue to focus on providing educational components that support STEM education,” remarked Dan Dipsey, Director of the Wayne Boys & Girls Club unit. “These laptops will help us enhance the learning experience for our students.”

Pop Up Moments are events designed to randomly surprise individuals and groups who make a positive difference in the local community. Over the next few months, Valley will schedule these events to celebrate some of the great things that are happening in the local neighborhoods throughout New Jersey, New York, Florida and Alabama.
