As a result of Columbia Bank’s “Banking for a Cause” Program, part of their new Livingston branch grand opening promotion, eight local charities received over $6,100 in special community-based donations.
Customers opening qualifying accounts at the new, full-service bank were asked to make a selection from eight eligible charitable and community organizations. The selected cause received a $10 donation for each vote cast for them. In addition, the top three vote getters also received an “extra bonus” of $2,500, $1,000 or $500 respectively. The Livingston First Aid Squad was the top winner, receiving a donation of $3,010.00.

- The Livingston Volunteer Fire Department received a donation of $1,230.00.
- The Cerebral Palsy of Livingston received a donation of $650.00.
- The West Essex YMCA, RWJ Barnabas Foundation, Jersey Cares, the ARC of Essex County and the Horizon School each received donations of $250.00.
