Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, is proud to announce that Ileana S. Ivanciu, PhD, has been recognized as one of the “Top 50 Women in Business” by NJBIZ, the New Jersey business journal.
The publication recognizes business leaders who have made outstanding contributions to the state of New Jersey, both in their industries and communities.
Ivanciu is a senior vice president at Dewberry and leads the firm’s environmental services practice. She also serves as technical advisor and regulatory liaison on major projects. Recently, Ivanciu led preparation of the Environmental Impact Statement for the $230-million Rebuild by Design Hudson River project, a comprehensive urban water strategy conceived to reduce coastal storm surge and rainfall flood risk in the City of Hoboken, as well as parts of Weehawken and Jersey City.
Ivanciu obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in geology and geophysics from the University of Bucharest, and her PhD in geology from the University of Bucharest. She is a member of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association, the American Council of Engineering Companies, Society of American Military Engineers, and Transportation Research Board. She was also a Board Member and spearheaded the creation of the New Jersey program of WTS Greater New York Chapter, a group focused on advancing women in transportation.
