CohnReznick LLP, one of the leading accounting, tax, and advisory firms in the United States, today announced that the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) has appointed two members of its tax practice to Tax Division Committees.
Joseph F. Scutellaro, CPA, Partner, was named Chair of the Tax Practice Responsibilities Committee. He is serving a two-year term as Chair and a third year as Immediate Past Chair of the committee. Scutellaro was the committee’s Vice Chair for the 2016-2017 year. The AICPA’s Tax Practice Responsibilities Committee (TPRC) monitors and makes recommendations on internal and external rules regarding the tax profession. It also maintains the tax professional standards promulgated by the AICPA, including the Statement on Standards in Tax Services (SSTS).
Dan Wise, CPA, Director, is serving a three-year term as a voluntary member of the AICPA’s Tax Practice and Procedure Committee. The committee monitors developments in and changes to IRS procedural and administrative guidance. It also keeps AICPA members informed of these changes and acts as a resource to assist other committees, technical resource panels, and task forces, as appropriate, on matters of tax administration and procedure.

Joe Scutellaro is a CohnReznick tax partner with almost 30 years of diversified public accounting experience. As the Tax Practice Director for the Eatontown, NJ office, he has been involved in various aspects of taxation and works with clients in the financial services and technology industries, including high-net-worth individuals. He frequently speaks for and contributes to the AICPA, helping to author its Tax Practice Quality Control Guide. Scutellaro holds a B.S., Accounting, from Fordham University.
Dan Wise, CPA, Director, is a member of CohnReznick’s National Tax Practice responsible for the Firm’s tax risk function. Based in the Roseland, NJ office, he has over 25 years of diversified public accounting experience with an extensive background in providing tax services to clients in the energy, private equity, real estate, hedge fund, not-for-profit, construction, and technology industries. He collaborated with Scutellaro in authoring updates to the AICPA’s Tax Practice Quality Control Guide. Wise earned a B.S., Economics, with concentrations in Accounting and Finance, from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
