Eastern DataComm announced they are hosting three seminars in October to discuss solutions to one of the most important topics facing school districts, law enforcement and municipalities today – safety.

The seminars will be held at three different locations in New Jersey, and are scheduled for 11am – 1:30pm on Thursday October 5th in Rutherford, NJ; Thursday, October 12th in Cherry Hill, N.J. and Thursday, October 19th in Bridgewater, NJ.  The events are free and lunch will be served.

The seminars aim to educate school administrators (K-12 and Higher Education), municipal leaders and local law enforcement on school safety best practices, as well as improving overall day-to-day communication and notifications for a lockdown or other emergency event.

The discussions will include the various school safety components such as intercom systems, wireless speakers, “mushroom-style” lockdown buttons, strobes and LED signage. These components must incorporate with day-to-day communication technology such as bells, wireless clocks, paging and phone systems in order to maximize your investment and stay within budget.

In addition, featured speaker Captain Patrick Kissane, Executive Director, New Jersey Association of School Resource Officers, and Member of New Jersey School Security Task Force will be discussing “Policing in Schools in the 21st Century.”

“After working with schools and municipalities for over 17 years, we’ve learned not only which communication technologies are needed, but how to maximize those investments within tight budgets,” says Paul Jenne, Sales Manager at Eastern DataComm. “By fully understanding communication technology components and how they all work together, we are able to recommend the best ways for schools and municipalities to improve their day-to-day communications as well as improve emergency notifications for school and building safety.”
